A northern California safety consulting firm is looking for a Construction Safety Specialist/Technician to serve as a Site Safety Consultant for several owners of, large building construction projects located in the Bay Area. The selected candidate is expected to perform site safety evaluations and audits of contractor and subcontractor personnel, and report all findings in a professional and courteous manner to the client. Maintain a professional demeanor and foster a sound working environment with all construction activity participants. Provide feedback and recommendations to the client. Must have a history of dealing with challenging projects, organizations and personnel.
Experience: 10 years construction safety/management experience. A combination of construction industry and safety experience may be considered.
Education: One or more years of college, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field preferred.
Certifications required: OSHA-30, STSC required, CHST and/or CSP preferred.
Competent person experience in: Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Hazardous energy Control (LOTO), Confined Space, Trenching and Excavation, Cranes and Rigging, Material Handling.
Experienced with: Title 8 Cal/OSHA, large commercial and manufacturing plant construction.
Computer skills: Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, digital camera operations. Experience with Adobe software and various tablet applications for IOS and Droid platforms desirable.
