Veterans can receive a variety of services and useful resources at the Sutter County One Stop. Veterans receive priority in job and training referrals and other employment related services. Veterans are able to attend workshops, receive help developing a resume, job search assistance and receive information about training programs.
An EDD Veteran Program Representative will be available on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The services provided will include Resume Assistance, Job Search Techniques, one-on-one services for eligible veterans and information regarding Veteran Resources you may be eligible for!
Veterans can also take advantage of the special Veteran’s Grant available to assist veterans with their training or retraining needs. This grant is in addition to other VA education benefit programs (i.e. the Post 9/11, GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill) many veterans may be eligible for. Visit the Sutter County One Stop to learn more about how this grant can assist you in upgrading your existing skills or in starting a new career. The goal is to address the need for veterans to transition into high-wage, high-growth occupations using their skills set obtained in the military. The program will assist the veteran with the completion of a training activity, job attainment and retention. Contact our On Stop to learn more about how we can assist you with the following: vocational training (financial assistance with tuition and certification fees, books, supplies and uniforms.), job search assistance, career assessment and planning, resume development and updates and on-the-job training.
