“I had been out of the workforce for quite some time due to struggles with addiction, which ultimately led to me being placed on probation. It was clear that I needed to change my life. I decided to get sober. Once I achieved sobriety, and my probation officer referred me to the Sutter County One Stop for assistance in finding a job.
Working with Jennie was a turning point for me. She provided invaluable support by creating a resume, enhancing my interviewing skills, and guiding my job search. However, many employers were hesitant to hire someone with my background. To help me re-enter the workforce, I was placed in a work experience program through the Sutter County One Stop. This opportunity allowed me to gain recent work experience and rebuild my confidence.
After successfully completing the work experience program, I applied for a position in merchandising and was thrilled to be hired. Throughout this journey, Jennie was by my side, encouraging me and helping me believe in myself. I’m proud to say that I have maintained both my job and my sobriety. I am incredibly grateful to Sutter County Probation and the Sutter County One Stop for their unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement."

Initially, I wasn’t the most motivated person in the world and if it wasn’t for Jennie at the Sutter County One Stop, I wouldn’t have been motivated at all. She really got me going on the right track. I was a little out of touch with the whole interview process, but she couched me, and I nailed ever interview I had. I am working now, and I am very grateful for the opportunities Jennie had presented me along the way. There are no secrets to success.
