If you would like to gain new skills or improve your existing skills, there are many training programs available to fit your needs through public schools, private schools, and government-supported programs. In a short time, you can be on your way to a new career. Help with Training Expenses
Do you need help with training expenses? Assistance may be available for certain training programs, but eligibility requirements must be met, and support will depend on available funding. Sutter County One Stop also assists with employment opportunities after the training is completed.

Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Interested in a career in construction? Short-term Pre-Apprenticeship training with incentives payments up to $550 will be offered June 9, 2025 – July 11, 2025. This is a special opportunity to introduce you to various fields in construction including: Plumbers, Pipefitters & HVAC, Sheet Metal Workers, Iron Workers, Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers, Plasterers, Cement Masons, Operating Engineers, Bricklayers, Northern CA Laborers Joint Apprenticeship, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to obtain certificates in CPR, OSHA 10, and forklift training. The best part is all of this is at no cost to you if you meet eligibility requirements.

- Diversity in the Construction Industry (Diversity / Sexual Harassment
- Blueprint Reading
- Green Construction
- Financial Responsibility
After completion, you may choose to apply to an Apprenticeship Program which trains workers to become skilled in a particular trade. Apprenticeship Programs combine hands-on work with classroom learning while you earn a paycheck.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Must have a working cell phone
- Must be available M-F from 8:00 am to 3:30 PM
